Overview

Body copy is the prime content for users to read created in paragraphs. Default, Leading, Quote and Supporting are all forms of body copy.

Use of this pattern

  • Default body copy is the style that should be used in all instances when not accentuating the copy content. Style should be set as Frutiger 55 Roman 18px #231F20 (line height 26px)

  • Leading body copy is the style that should only be used when accentuating the leading paragraph to default copy content, and can only be used once at the beginning of and per article. Style should be set as Frutiger 55 Roman 24px #231F20 (line height 32px)

  • Quote body copy is the style that should only be used when accentuating a quote statement. Style should be set as Frutiger 56 Italic 24px #425563 (line height 32px)

    • Author sign off body copy is the style that should only be used when indicating an author to the quote copy. Style should be set as Frutiger 65 Bold 14px #231F20 (line height 20px) and right aligned. (Same style as H6 but right aligned)
    • Role/Org sign off body copy is the style that should only be used when indicating either an author role or author’s organisation or both to the author sign off copy. Style should be set as Frutiger 55 Roman 14px #231F20 (line height 20px) and right aligned. (Same style as Supporting paragraph but right aligned)
  • Supporting body copy is the style that should only be used in certain instances such as when copy need not distract or draw away attention from default body copy. Style should be set as Frutiger 55 Roman 14px #231F20 (line height 20px)

How it works

  • For almost all situations default to default body copy.
  • Use supporting body copy paragraph for content such as T&Cs and alerts that don't draw attention from prime default content.
  • Use Leading body copy only on the first paragraph after a Heading.
